Join the KRA Community!

Join the NRA Community!

  • Join members from across the nation for our annual educational meetings, featuring results-oriented rehabilitation training sessions and the latest rehabilitation technologies.

  • NRA full members receive the quarterly Journal of Rehabilitation, an internationally-acclaimed scholarly journal on the cutting-edge of rehabilitation research. Members also receive Contemporary Rehab, the bi-monthly newsletter filled with the latest rehabilitation and membership news. Members also have the opportunity to purchase other NRA publications at reduced rates, such as the Switzer Monographs, a report from our annual seminar on the latest trends in rehabilitation; the Handbook for Rehabilitation Advocacy, designed to help you shape legislative policy and reform; and other special publications produced by NRA chapters, regions and divisions.

  • NRA's annual Governmental Affairs Summit provides you with the necessary tools to access your government representatives both at home and in Washington, DC. You'll discover how to educate Congress and your local elected officials on issues critical to persons with disabilities.

  • The Washington Wire provides up-to-the-minute information on pending legislative and regulatory issues before the federal government of interest to members of the National Rehabilitation Association, persons with disabilities, and the disability community in general.

  • As a member of the NRA, you also have the opportunity to join professional divisions in areas of special interests. The divisions focus on a broad range of rehabilitation issues, such as career development for persons with disabilities, independent living, and rehabilitation leadership as well as professional associations for rehabilitation counselors, rehabilitation support staff, private sector providers, and more. Divisions may produce specialty publication(s), and many sponsor focused professional development training seminars in their fields.

  • NRA members are automatically members of state and regional chapters. Chapters and Regions hold conferences and sponsor training seminars around the country to keep you current and provide opportunities for growth in the rehabilitation practice.

  • The National Rehabilitation Association has partnered with AAACEUS to offer DISCOUNTED Online Continuing Education (CEUs) to Certified Healthcare Professionals. The on-line courses and home study classes will be offered to the NRA at a 10% discount. The courses being offered are pre-approved and appropriate for RNs in every state, Social Workers (ASWB) and the following professional certifications: ACM, CCM, CRRN, CRC, CDMS, CLCP, CPUR, CPUM, CPHM, COHN, CMCN and ABVE. The courses offered by AAACEUS will cover 3 areas of competency:

    • Case Management & Rehabilitation competency – the rolls and responsibilities, skills, communication techniques and models of healthcare professionals;

    • Clinical competency: e.g. HIV, Back Pain, COPD, CHF, Asthma, Diabetes, Obesity, Alzheimer’s, Stroke, Hypertension and more and

    • Community / Global competence – privacy issues, HIPAA issues, ADA, ethics, communication techniques, interviewing skills, medical terminology, issues that impact the patient’s health and well being (e.g. the uninsured, the poor, etc) and more.
